I Never Got This Far in My Dream…

I Never Got This Far in My Dream - AngelicaKimberly

Bubba Watson and his now infamous pink driver

Did any of you watch the Master’s Tournament this past weekend?

Michael and I enjoy watching golf, among other sporting events. This year’s Master’s Tournament was no different.

By now, though, I’m sure you heard that Bubba Watson won! :)

I must say that I’m a new fan. There’s something about his persona and spirit that’s just refreshing and wonderfully sincere.

What struck me, was his “victory interview.” It wasn’t just his tears of joy or the elation of the win, but it was the sheer fact that he was awestruck that he had, in fact, won!

As I sat there, listening to him speak between tears, this response to the intervier’s question stuck out to me…

(paraphrased)

Interviewer: Congratulations! Do you get a sense what it’s like to wear this Green Jacket?

Bubba Watson: …I never go this far in my dream…

This guy just won the Master’s Tournament for the first time and he was speechless. Why? Because he didn’t imagine he would be there. Never in his dreams. This reminds me of this…

Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]–
Ephesians 3:20

This win was beyond anything Bubba could have thought or even imagined. Even in his wildest dreams, he never, ever concieved the idea of winning the Master’s.

Bubba's Pink Driver (and pink-trimmed shoes) LOVE IT!!! :)

I find this encouraging as a Mompreneur!

You see, I have hopes, dreams, and ideas about the future of my family and business. But to know that even in my wildest dreams, God has something better for me – something that will render me speechless…WOW, just WOW!!!

My encouragement to you is, to keep dreaming and believing in your future. While you are doing so, relinguish those dreams to God. In the end, he will render you speechless concerning your future. It will be beyond anything you could ever ask, think, or imagine. :)

I hope we all end up like Bubba, speechless because we are in a place that we never imagined we’d be in. While there, we’re giving God all the glory, honor, and praise!

I know I’m looking forward to saying this myself,

I never got this far in my dream…

Easter is one of my family’s favorite holidays!

We usually enjoy attending worship service (this year the Dance Ministry I lead, danced), enjoy a nice brunch/lunch, and then head outside for an Easter egg hunt with my children.

Somewhere in there, there are family visits, phone calls, etc. By Monday morning, I’m pooped!

I hope you enjoy your Sunday. Most of all, I pray you were able to reflect on the life, death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord. His sacrifice means that we have eternal life and can live out our deepest calling, as Mompreneurs!

Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Do you have a personal or business slogan? What does it mean to you?
We serve families who want high fashion without the labels.

How long have you been a Mompreneur?
A little less than a year.

What’s your Mompreneur story?
In 2010, I found out that my husband and I were adding twins to our family. Because we cloth diapered, I couldn’t imagine having to buy cloth for two in such a short time frame (the start up is kind of expensive). So I started looking up tutorials to sew my own cloth diapers that would still let my baby bottoms look cute, but have our pockets not as light as they could be.

Diapers led to clothes, clothes led to aprons, and aprons led to purses, wallets, hair accessories. I’ve even done a nursery set for someone. Sewing allows me to still be creative without having to leave my children at a daycare (no judgment to those who do) because for us, it’s a financial block that keeps us from being able to do so. Three under four is a LOT for day care systems.

How do you balance your responsibilities, as wife (fiancé), mom, daughter, sister, friend seamlessly?
Honestly, with lots of prayer and lower expectations for things.I have come to realize that my house will NOT be clean every single day. I’ve learned that I won’t be able to sew 8 hours straight in the house. I’ve learned to not sweat the small stuff as well. I’m learning a LOT about patience (be careful when you pray for it), due to all of the things that I have to juggle. Most importantly, I’ve learned the value of NO. If it doesn’t increase the value of my life or my family’s life – then we’re usually not doing it.

What’s the biggest triumph you’ve experienced as a Mompreneur? How did you celebrate?
Opening my Etsy Shop, and having people who I had just met at a business retreat order from me. I also completed a nursery set – crib skirt, curtains, sheets and changing pad cover as well. We celebrated with dinner – on ME.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve experiences as a Mompreneur? How did you recover?
My biggest challenge is not being so hard on myself. I can’t sew if I’m stressing myself out. Not to be confused with, I can’t sew if I’m stressed. I’m weird like that. If my brain is jumbled because I’m not giving myself a break, I won’t be good to customers OR myself OR my family.

Any words of advice to aspiring or established Mompreneurs?
Learn to accept support. My husband helps me by cutting fabric and being with the children on his days off. I’ve learned to delegate things and also trust housecleaning (when it’s done) to my two older children. I may have to train a bit longer, but it will be one less thing that I have to do later down the line.

How can the readers of AngelicaKimberly.com stay connected with you?
You can follow my blog Houseful of Nicholes - I talk about my sewing and all of the other random stuff that happens to our family on a daily basis. I also offer recipes, and DIY that will make things around the house a little brighter or easier.
